EP 080 – Want to live a BIG life? You need a bigger jar
Are you living BIG?
I don’t mean ‘splashing the cash around’ kinda big.
I mean feeling like you’re living your purpose.
If not, its time to look around and see your current world for what it is – a glass jar.
In this quick tip episode I explain what that means and give you some juicy questions you can use as journal prompts.
Bust out of your current glass jar so you can play in a more expansive, fun-filled one!

Hey there, and welcome back to the Fun Business Fun Money podcast!
I’m your host, Deirdre Amies 👋
You know, every time I say or write the name of this podcast I’m reminded what the purpose of it is, which is to make sure you, me, everyone, has a fun business which makes fun money.
Fun is what I want to experience every day, every where, big or small. It shouldn’t be saved for weekends or special occasions.
But that doesn’t happen by chance, you have to consciously choose to make something fun.
Fun is ESPECIALLY important when it comes to running a business and making money.
I honestly can’t think of anything worse than a business that becomes a complete drag that doesn’t make any money.
It can be exactly like that in a job too, been there done that! And it’s ALSO not great.
Often in a job though, you don’t have full control over what you do, how you do it, how much time it takes, how much you earn doing it. All that impacts the fun factor for sure.
But in your own business, that you’re doing by choice? Worst. Possible. Scenario!
Thats why I want this quick tip episode to be literally quick, easy and simple with one big question…
Are you living a BIG life?
BIG IN CAPITAL LETTERS! 🤩
What I mean by that is are you settling for the status quo?
Is there something BIG that you’ve dreamed of, that you’re holding back on?
Yes, I know I’ve just asked THREE questions, but the 2nd and 3rd are to expand on the first lol!
ARE you actually living BIG?
Living big isn’t about splashing the cash around. Thats not it AT ALL. Thats one facet of it, if thats how you choose to live your life.
Its a feeling that you’re living your life purpose.
You’re in flow, you’re loving what you’re up to and everything about life is gooooood!
Its plainly obvious that a lot of people are struggling financially right now. But a big part of getting off the struggle bus and onto the FUN bus is shifting your energy, and your mindset.
Expanding your horizons and challenging yourself to see things in a different way. Even though nothing has physically changed!
If you hit pause for a moment and really look around, you’ll start to see the metaphorical glass jar you’re existing in.
The one that’s dictated by other people’s perception of you and your place in the world.
The one that says you have this set of skills, you’re best suited to this kind of role, you’ll make this much money.
And you know what? Its best if you don’t challenge that because its going to be all kinds of HARD WORK.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with playing within those rules and working hard, especially if thats exactly where you need to be right now.
But if you’re feeling like there’s something MORE for you out there somewhere?
Its time to expand your thinking and get a bigger jar.
I started out thinking about this topic in the traditional box sense, as in you’re living in a box. But a jar is far better aligned with what I mean.
A jar is WAY sneakier than a box because you can see through the walls to all the stuff going on outside of you. You feel like you’re part of the bigger picture, even though theres this invisible barrier getting in your way.
Even though you can’t ‘see’ it, there’s still something in the way, isn’t there?
In order to truly be living BIG, you’re gonna need a bigger jar.
Like in ‘Jaws’, “We’re gonna need a bigger boat.” 🦈⛵️
You’re gonna need a bigger jar!
Here’s a couple more questions for you:
🤔 What do you want to be, do and have?
🤔 What actions can you take to break the jar and expand your world so you’re actually living BIG?
I’m not here to give you any answers to those questions, only you can do that for yourself.
My sole purpose here is to get you thinking about the possibilities as we roll into the final quarter of 2023.
I mean, its the end of September and people are already posting countdowns to Christmas for crying out loud! Halloween is just around the corner.
Before you know it? BAM! It’ll be 2024.
Do you want to carry on living life in the same jar?
Or would you like a bigger, more expansive jar to play in?

Only you know the answer to that. I will tell you that busting out of that current glass jar is a whole lot easier than the ‘rule makers’ would have you believe 😉
